ARENA PLAN COMMISSION

JULY 5, 2005

PRESENT:  Bob Murphy, Wayne Schutte, Dee Swenson, Bill Gauger, Mark Hottmann, David Lucey

OTHERS:  Laurie Ziebarth, Pamela Lunder, Lois Artz

The meeting was called to order.  Lucey moved to approve the minutes of the June 6 meeting; Gauger seconded, motion passed.

1.         Pamela Lunder, receiver for Peterson’s Valley Spring Farm, is working to dissolve the corporation for the farm.  She presented concept maps to divide the farm.  Parcels A, D, E and F on the north side would be the first to be sold.  It was determined the farm was 482 acres in 1985 and was eligible for 12 building sites.  Four building sites are currently used, two homes on the farm, and the Reeve and Doescher homes.    An on-site inspection for the driveways on the north side of Amacher Hollow will be set up in the next couple of weeks.

2.         Lois Artz would like to divide 5.7 acres from the farm property around the gift shop.  One acre around the gift shop is currently zoned B2 highway business.  Artz has also had people inquire about using the existing barn for a business.  The Commission stated it would be beneficial to adjoin the current gift shop land with the existing buildings for the 5.7 acres.

3.         Murphy reported that after checking records at Iowa County with Rick Hanson, it was suggested he rezone the complete acreage for both his property and his parent’s property to AR1.

4.         Wording for amendments to Section H was drafted for the public hearing to be held Tuesday, July 19.

The next meeting will be held Monday, August 1, 2005 at 7:00pm at the Town Hall.  Lucey moved to adjourn, Hottmann seconded, motion passed.
