ARENA PLAN COMMISSION

DECEMBER 5, 2005

PRESENT: Bob Murphy, Rod Anding, Cheryl Schmidt, John Wright, Wayne Schutte, Dee Swenson, Bill Gauger, Mark Hottmann, Dave Lucey

OTHERS: Laurie Ziebarth, Terry & Connie Denruiter, Dean Swenson, Paul Swenson, Steve Harrington, Jack Tredinnick, Robert Wolf, Kevin Ziebarth, Steve Sawle, 16 others

The meeting was called to order. Schutte moved to approve the minutes of the November 7, 2005 meeting; Anding seconded, motion passed.

1. The Rick Hanson driveway permit was presented. Hanson will be moving the driveway so it doesn't cross in front of the other home on the property. Gauger moved to approve the driveway permit, Hottmann seconded, motion carried.

2. Connie Denruiter presented a petition signed by 200 residents in the Town of Arena to request an advisory referendum regarding the residential density standard at the April 2006 election.

3. Jack Tredinnick asked to rezone 20.36 acres off Blue Ridge Road to AR1 for a future home site, using one of the two building sites Tredinnick has on this property. Schmidt moved to approve rezoning on this parcel to AR1 with a land division, Anding seconded, motion passed.

4. Kevin Ziebarth stated they had acquired the Furrer property, 12.03 acres, on the corner of Helena and Wittwer Road. There is a trailer on the property currently. Ziebarth plans to build a home on the property in the spring and remove the trailer after the home is built.

5. Steve Sawle presented drainage and runoff studies done by two engineering firms for Falmouth Farm & Stables. Sawle invited those present to meet with him to discuss the findings.

6. Discussion followed on the proposed changes to the comprehensive plan. Anding moved to amend the Town of Arena Comprehensive Plan with the proposed changes as corrected on December 5, 2005, Schutte seconded, motion passed.

The next meeting will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 7:00pm at the Town Hall. Swenson moved to adjourn, Schutte seconded, motion passed.
