Town of Arena – Regular Meeting

January 9, 2006

PRESENT: Bob Murphy, Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey, Laurie Ziebarth, Minnie Gauger, Louis Carpenter, Dave Meudt, Dick Lockman, Vern & Evie Halverson, Mark Hottmann, 6 others

The meeting was called to order. Gauger moved to approve the minutes of the December 12th, 2005 meeting, Lucey seconded, motion passed. Lucey moved to pay the bills presented, Gauger seconded, motion carried.

Vern Halverson presented a copy of the road maintenance agreement for the joint driveway off of the east end of Loy Road. Currently there are 5 users planned on the driveway. Gauger moved to approve a driveway permit and rezoning on a 12.6 acre parcel from A1 to AR1 for Vern Halverson, Lucey seconded, motion passed. Gauger moved to approve a driveway and building permit for Ingmar Nelson contingent upon the zoning meeting county standards, Lucey seconded, motion carried.

It was noted the fence line between the Ziebarth/Lucey property had not been completed. A letter will be sent to LeRoy Ziebarth stating the adjoining landowner will finish the fence. Westbrook Engineers presented a proposal to inspect the bridges in the township and do the filing for $1140.00. Gauger moved to hire Westbrook Engineers to complete the bridge inspections for 2006, Lucey seconded with Murphy abstaining. Gauger moved to increase the rent for the truck bay to Iowa County to $300 per month for two years, informing the county that at the end of two years the agreement would be reviewed, Lucey seconded, motion passed.

Mail was read. Specs for a new truck were discussed. Questions were taken from those in attendance. Work was done on the residential density survey. Gauger moved to adjourn, Lucey seconded, motion passed.
