Town of Arena – Regular Meeting

September 11, 2006

PRESENT: Bob Murphy, Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey, Laurie Ziebarth, Minnie Gauger, Louis Carpenter, Dick & Mary Lockman, Dave Meudt, John Murphy, Terry Denruiter, Ingmar Nelson

The meeting was called to order. Roll call was taken. Lucey moved to approve the minutes of the August 14, 2006 meeting, Gauger seconded, motion passed. Gauger moved to pay the bills presented, Lucey seconded, motion carried.

John Murphy, Rural Insurance, was present to discuss some potential changes to the township insurance policy. The group will discuss the options presented and contact John.

Gauger moved to approve a driveway permit for Tim Draxler, Lucey seconded, motion passed. Lucey moved to approve a building permit for Dave Heinz, Gauger seconded, motion carried. Gauger moved to approve an operator's license for Paul Schoenmann and a temporary operator's license for Denise Layton for 3 months until she attends bartenders school, Lucey seconded, motion passed.

Road work yet to be done was discussed. Gauger moved to approve two petitions for annexation of railroad right-of-way that goes through the Village of Arena from the Town of Arena into the Village of Arena, Lucey seconded, motion carried. Mail was read. The price of patch was figured out to be $2.00 per 5 gallon pail.

Gauger moved to have the chairman contact KayDee Maxwell regarding being appointed as clerk, Lucey seconded, motion carried. Lucey moved to approve the purchase of a new laptop computer for the treasurer, Murphy seconded, motion carried with Gauger abstaining. The budget was worked on. Gauger moved to adjourn, Lucey seconded, motion passed.
