ARENA PLAN COMMISSION

February 5, 2007

The meeting was called to order.  Terry Denruiter moved to approve the minutes of the January 2, 2007 meeting, Schutte seconded, motion passed.

 

 

1. Steve Sawle introduced St. Jude Children's Hospital representatives who wish to have a fund raising trail ride on Sawle's property. The trail ride will take place May 4-6, 2007. Trail riders will 'rustic' and trailer camp on the property. There is enough trailer camping for 25 visitors. Dumpsters, trash barrels and 8 portable toilets will be placed on the grounds. The Arena Fire Department will be holding a food and beer stand. All permits will be obtained by the Department. St. Jude's Hospital provides insurance coverage for this event.

 

2. Ingmar Nelson asked for an extension of his building permit for another 6 months. Denruiter motioned to extend Nelson's building permit until August 1, 2007. Schutte seconded, motioned passed.

 

3. Dennis Arneson requests a building and driveway permit. Schmidt motioned to approve the building and driveway permit. Schutte seconded, motioned carried.

 

4. Kelly Sears proposes to build a shop and put a driveway on a 46 acre parcel on CTH K. The 46 acres will be purchased from David Sears. Schutte moves to approve the land division and driveway permit. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

 

5. David Sears would like to rezone and divide .85 acres of an A-1 strip of land to his existing 5 acres of AR-1 land.  Schutte moves to rezone .85 of an acre from A-1 to AR-1 and add it to David's existing parcel. Denruiter seconded, motion carried.

 

            6. Dennis Halverson - Propose to rezone 5 acres of A-1 & R-1 to AR-1 and remaining 28 acres to AR-1 from A-1 & R-1. Schmidt motioned to approve the land division and rezoning of two parcels, 5 and 28 acres, to AR-1. Schutte seconded, motion passed.

 

            7. Minnie and Bill Gauger wish to rezone and divide 5 acres off of their 102 acre parcel. Denruiter motioned to divide and rezone 5.01 acres from A-1 to AR-1. Schutte seconded, motion carried.

 

            8. Richard Peck wants to build a shed on his property. The shed must be back 50 feet from center line of Peck Road. Schutte moved to agree to a 50 foot set back for the building of Pecks shed. Denruiter seconded, motion passed. Approval from the County Board of Adjustment is still required.

 

            9. Steve Sawle plans to give riding lessons, have horse training, hold horse shows, horse boarding, vending machines, rent of club house space, coin operated laundry, specialty functions, tack shop, camping at his Falmouth Stables facility. The committee felt that the proposed conditional uses were basically covered under the original conditional uses P.U.D. Sawle provided for Falmouth Stables.

 

 

 

 

The next meeting will be held March 5, 2007 at 7:00pm at the Town Hall.  Schmidt moved to adjourn, Schutte seconded, motion passed.
