ARENA PLAN COMMISSION

July 2, 2007

PRESENT:  John Wright, Wayne Schutte, Terry Denruiter, KayDee Maxwell, Cheryl Schmidt, Bill Gauger, Mark Hottmann,

OTHERS:  Traci Halverson, Betty Linley, Ingmar Nelson, June & Kevin Ziebarth

The meeting was called to order.  Wayne Schutte moved to approve the minutes of the June 4, 2007 meeting, Hottmann seconded, motion passed.

Betty Linley requested information on the land use guidelines for the township. She has land in Iowa and Dane county. There is a 51.9 acre plot of crop land and non-tillable land that she wants to use for a building site. She will also need a driveway permit and a shared driveway agreement for the site. She must have 5 acres for the building site with a minimum of 4 acres of non-cropland.

Traci Halverson is looking to add speed limit and children at play signs for the trailer park. Speed bumps would be nice, but not something the town would be willing to do. The signs will be discussed at the Town Board meeting next week. She also would like to install new Bit-o-Green Manufactured Home Entrance signs off of the right-of-way. She would add 2 signs and possibly a third smaller sign. She has one sign on the west driveway now and would remove that one. She also asked about adding approximately ten more sites to the trailer park. She has 20 sites now on 13 acres and is zoned a mobile home park. According to the county she can have 6 homes per acre. A pre-treatment tank would allow her to add twice as many homes to the existing sewer system without installing new sewers. The committee suggested she bring in a formal proposal with her exact plans.

June and Kevin Ziebarth requested a building permit for a new home off of Wittwer Road. They will use the existing 4 year old well and remove the existing trailer on the site. The new home will be built by fall and the trailer will be removed by January 1, 2008. Wayne Schutte motioned to grant a building permit for Ziebarths and Hottmann seconded, motion passed.

Wayne Schutte requested a change in his conditional use agreement to be allowed 22 horses on his property. Currently he is allowed 11 horses. He has signatures from 3 farmers agreeing to the change. Schmidt motioned to allow Schutte to double the number of horses on his property to 22. Hottmann seconded, motion passed. Schutte abstained from voting.

The next meeting will be held August 6, 2007 at 7:00pm at the Town Hall.  Hottmann moved to adjourn, Schutte seconded, motion passed.
