Town of Arena – unofficial minutes

PRESENT:  Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey, Terry Denruiter, KayDee Maxwell, Minnie Gauger

 

 

- The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.  Roll call was taken, all board members are present. Denruiter motioned that the meeting notice was posted in the proper public places. Gauger seconded, motion passed. Gauger moved to approve the minutes of the June 09, 2008 meeting. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.  Gauger moved to approve the minutes of the June 16, 2008 meeting. Denruiter seconded, motion passed. 

 

- Louis Carpenter stated that people are bringing in larger garbage bags since the rate increase. Gauger motioned all garbage bags should be 30 gallons or less. If bags are over 30 gallons the resident will be charged accordingly by the sanitation attendant. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

 

- TRIP project was approved to replace the pipes on Amacher Hollow Road.  The Town will approve the Westbrook Engineers contract at the August Meeting.

 

- We will need to order more material for Peck Road. The board told the patrolmen that we could spend another $30,000. on road maintenance. Lucey would like them to get some work done on Fitts Road. We may have to cut back on seal coating this year. The patrolmen put signs up at the Bit-O-Green mobile home park.

 

- Gauger motioned to approve the bills as presented. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

 

- Gauger motioned to approve the rezoning and land division for Tracy Halverson. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

 

- Denruiter motioned to approve the conditional use permit for 100 cars on the Valley Motors car lot for James Berterang. Gauger seconded, motion passed.

 

- Traders Bar & Grill did not have a fireworks permit to sell fireworks during the 2008 season. The Board will write him a letter and send the application.

 

- Gauger motioned to approve the operator's license for Chelsi Amble. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

 

- The Town Board checked with Iowa County and Gary Ringelstetter accepted his conditional use without a residential site being part of it. The County, Town Board and Ringelstetter signed off on it.

 

- Minnie Gauger received a letter from the Iowa County Humane Society. The Humane Society may become the licensing agent for dogs in the County. Lucey motioned to have Minnie Gauger email the Humane Society and let them take care of the licensing. Bill Gauger abstained from voting. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

 

- Gauger motioned to adjourn. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.
