PRESENT: Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey,

Carpenter, Dave Meudt, Dick Lockman,
Mark Austin, Ingmar Nelson
- The meeting was called to
order at 7:06 pm. Roll call was taken,
all board members are present. Denruiter motioned that the meeting notice was
posted in the proper public places. Gauger seconded, motion passed. Gauger
moved to approve the minutes of the August 11, 2008 meeting. Denruiter
seconded, motion passed.
- Mark Austin representing a
group of individuals discussed the campground ran by Terry Askevold.
Mr. Askevold stating that the campground and canoe
service was grandfathered in is a lie states Mr. Austin. There has been more
than 100 cars parked in the parking lot and Mr. Askevold
locks the gates so people cannot have access to their land. Mr. Austin is
concerned about the big parties and large amounts of people and traffic. According
to the County a campground is not allowed. Mr. Askevold
appealed the decision and the County agreed that the campground was
grandfathered in before 1970 and rezoned the property to allow camping. There
are no police reports in the past two years for Mr. Askevold's
property. Mr. Austin says that the electrical is not up-to-date. Jerry Gust
stated that it is more of a trailer court than a campground that Mr. Askevold is running. People are acting inappropriately going
down the river. David Lucey stated that they will
have to put in an appeal to the County about the campground.
- Discussion of the new fire truck that the
Village and Town are going to get. The fire chief is still expecting the Town
and Village to come up with around $350,000 for the truck. A year from now we
will be purchasing a new ambulance at $140,000.
We are responsible for 70.2% of the cost. The Town would like to put off
purchasing the truck for two more years till we have more debt paid off.
- Jim Landre
- The Town cannot do a deed restriction. Our attorney will supply a deed
restriction for Mr. Landre.

Sears. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.
