ARENA PLAN COMMISSION - unofficial minutes

October 6, 2008

The meeting was called to order. Roll call was taken. Plan Commission members present are John Wright, Wayne Schutte, Cheryl Schmidt, Bob Murphy, Rod Anding, Mark Hottmann. Others present are KayDee Maxwell, Dave Lucey, Terry Denruiter, Bill Gauger, Ingmar Nelson, Ted McCutchin, John Halverson

Schutte motioned to approve the motion minutes from the September 2, 2008 meeting. Schmidt seconded, motion passed.

Ted McCutchin representing Armeta McCutchin - Owns an existing 26 acre parcel with a house. They want to parcel off 6.931 acres with the house and zone that AR1. Then make the 20 acres a second parcel zoned C1. Anding motioned to approve the land division of lot 1 being 20 acres and lot 2 being 6.913 acres. Lot one will be rezoned from A1 to AR1 and lot 2 from A1 to C1. Schutte seconded, motion passed. There will be a permanent easement to lot 2. The $750.00 fee was paid by Ted McCutchin.

Discussion of the sunset clause on conditional use permits. Who is going to check if the conditional use has been implemented? We should get more details on the County's conditional use policies. The problem in the Town is people coming in with vague ideas for a conditional use permit and then they never do anything or they want it just to make the land more valuable.

Dave Lucey brought up residence building sheds in the Township. Currently the County pretty much takes care of this process. Do we want to be more involved? Looking at the driveways?

Murphy motioned to adjourn. Hottmann seconded, motion passed.
