Town of Arena - unofficial minutes

July 13, 2009

PRESENT: Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey, Terry Denruiter, Minnie Gauger, Dick Lockman, Mary Lockman, Dave Meudt, Ingmar Nelson, John Halverson, Brent Duhr

- The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Roll call was taken, all board members are present. There is a correction to the June 8, 2009 minutes, Ingmar Nelson was also present. Gauger moved to approve the minutes of the June 8, 2009 meeting. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Patrolmen discussion - Lockman thinks we should do Linley Road this year

Vern Halverson - County will only let us do a 1 year permit. After 1 year - will need to ask for rezone and conditional use.

With corrections Bill Gauger made a motion to approve. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Roy & Chris Anding - 5.01 acres - Bill made a motion to approve the rezone, land division and building permit for Demby Road. Using the existing driveway and all the conditions on the house from the Planning Commission. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Randy Pittman - Gauger made a motion to table this until next month and Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

John Halverson - Highway 14 passing lane and Chandler's plan is to have passing lane and curb done by the summer of 2010. Black topping Spring of 2010, Rock in the fuel of 2009. They have 18 months to get the road in (from sending permit into the DOT) They were unsure of the start date for the 18 months.

Motion made to table refunding Vern Halverson his $250 for the conditional use for 30 days because it was not on the agenda.

Gauger motioned to approve the building permit for Erin Bowe and Robert Wolf. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Rand Schott- Denruiter motioned to table the driveway permit approval because he did not bring in a maintenance agreement. Gauger seconded, motion passed. Gauger motioned to approve the conditional use permit with no structures. Denruiter seconded, motion passed. Windmill is 120' H, 10 Killa unit.

Gauger motioned to table the approval of the operator licenses because there were several people under age to serve. Everything will be sent back to Traders. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Patrolment discussion - Lucey got confirmation on the salt - $59/ton - 250 tons. Lockman can call Jeri when he wants it.

Corner of Village Edge Road was cleaned of of gravel.

Ewers said another month before we get the curshed blacktopo reported Lucey and Wewrs hasn't commited to price other than it wil be between $4 -$6/yard. The Town has 2500 yards coming. Suggestion was made to have a contractor haul and not our patrolmen.

We need about 800 yards for Fitts Road. Dave reported his transfer case is leaking. Not seal coating Hayward Crossing and Bob Murphy is checking into grant money.

Discussion with Bob Murphy on cost of repairing Village Edge Road - estimate 6" gravel and 2" asphalt from the corner to Fortier Road is $51,000, $75,000 up to the Village. Bob is checking on TRIP funds and Safety funds.
