Town of Arena

September 14, 2009

PRESENT: Dave Lucey, Minnie Gauger, Dick Lockman, Mary Lockman, Dave Meudt, Ingmar Nelson, Bob Murphy, Vern & Evy Halverson, John Halverson

- The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Roll call was taken, Bill Gauger was not present. Denruiter moved to approve the minutes of the August 4, 2009 meeting. Lucey seconded, motion passed.

- Denruiter motioned to table the discussion about Rand Schott's driveway until Bill Gauger is present and they get more information from Rand Schott and David Moore. Lucey seconded, motion passed.

- Bob Murphy - River Road project, nothing has been done since the trees have been taken out.

David Perkins- Murphy called DNR after he and Lucey visited David Perkins. Frank Stetter of DNR, said have fun, no problem, just don't go into wooded area. Perkins wants to dig a drainage ditch North and South of Pine Road. Thinks it will eliviate water pressure and the Town gets the ditch put in for nothing.

Connie McVay - Lucey went to the County and talked with them again. They looked at the map and tabled it. Scott Godfrey looked at the map and said he would get back to us within the week. A public notice will be published in the paper next week. Another option is everyone could agree to do an accessor plat. Denruiter thinks we have come up with the best description of the property so far. John Halverson thinks you should do away with the accessors plat. They are vacating part of Lexington street and the North half of the alley in block 6. Lucey motioned to vacate part of Lexington Street; block 7 adjacent to lots 1, 2, 3 & 4 block 6 adjacent to lots 8, 7, 6 & 5. Vacate part of the Alley, all of the alley in block 6. Denruiter motioned to table the discussion for 30 days. John Halverson is going to help write the description of the vacated property. Lucey seconded, motion passed.

Vern Halverson - Vern is in charge of the pile of the ground up blacktop. Ewers said the township agreed to pay $10/yard for it. Lucey said that is not accurate. Ewers had told Lucey originally that they could do it for $5/yard. Halverson said it would be more like $7 to $7.50/yard. It probably won't be crushed unitl October. If the township hired to Vern to truck blacktop it would probably cost about $40 per load with 16 yards.

Town Patrolmen - discussion about roads.

John Halverson - Baxter Road, State wants a copy of the resolution from the Township. Halverson needs a resolution from the Town. The Town doesn’t usually dedicate roads until they are finished. This is a resolution accepting the dedication of the land. The Township will not take over the road until it is completed. Lucey motioned to sign a resolution on the CSM for Baxter Lane for dedication only with the stipulation that the Town Road will be up to standards before we take it over . Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Village of Arena - bill for the landfill testing. The DNR said this needs to be done and the Township pays half. Send a letter to the Village of Arena asking for a copy of the original bill and the test results.

Wednesday night is another meeting at the County about the Farmland Preservation program. The Township is going to have to decide if we are or are not doing anything.

The township may have to raise garbage prices again if the State increases their tipping fees.

Special meeting to work on the 2010 budget. October 6th at 6:30pm.

Operators Licenses - Lucey motioned to approve operators licenses for Stephen Pappas. Denruiter seconded, motion passed. Lucey motioned to approved an operators license for Kenneth Nachreiner. Denruiter seconded, motion passed. Denruiter motioned to approve an operators license for Michelle Hutchinson, Lucey seconded, motion passed. Denruiter motioned to approve an operators license for Brenner Rasmussen, Lucey seconded, motion passed. Denruiter motioned to approve an operators license for Denise Layton if we are legal doing so with her felony conviction, Lucey seconded, motion passed.

Denruiter motioned to approve the bills presented. Lucey seconded, motion passed.
