Town of Arena

February 8, 2010

PRESENT: Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey, Terry Denruiter, KayDee Maxwell, Minnie Gauger, Dick Lockman, Mary Lockman, Dave Meudt, Ingmar Nelson

- The meeting was called to order at 7:09 pm. Roll call was taken, all board members are present.

- Gauger motioned to approve the minutes from the January 11, 2010. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

- Gauger motioned to approve the minutes from the January 25, 2010 meeting. Denruiter added to the minutes. Denruiter seconded, motion approved.

- Patrolmen discussion - have not got the rear end of Dick's truck fixed yet. Need new tires for the truck. We need a better ladder for the shop. Should we forward contract fuel for next year?

- DOR County Assessment proposal is no longer going to happen so we don't need to discuss it.

- Ingmar Nelson - Was Heck's building permit passed at the County yet? No. Rod Anding said at the end of the Plan Commission meeting that if Ingmar's deed doesn't say he has building sites, then he doesn't have any. Part of Ingmar's property was purchased from the Wittwer's, Utilos, & Hartung. Ingmar states that deeds don't typically state that you have building sites. Denruiter said in the Towns Plan that after 1985 building sites should be placed on the deeds if there is a land division. Alsum's received their land from Ronald & Katherine Nicklaus. Point is the land was transferred in 1994. Gary & Cheryl bought it in 1999. Ingmar bought the property before that. Wittwer kept three building sites when they sold their land according to Gauger as herd from Gary Heck. The board is not going to make a decision as where the building permits came from, said Lucey. Denruiter said this is a Planning & Zoning issue not a Town Board issue. Ingmar wants to know if he has building sites? Lucey will look through the information on Saturday.

- Evy & Vern Halverson - building permit for the cattle ranch. They have seven more houses. Behind Chick Gullickson's house. Gauger motioned to approve the building and driveway permit. Denruiter seconded, motion passed. They are still waiting on the bank for the house on Hwy H.

- Meeting at the Courthouse for the Farmland Preservation on February 17^th.

- Public Comments:

- Try to get more of the special meetings posted on the internet.

- Could we do number 2 recycling (windowed envelopes etc.? Newspapers and magazines are number 1. What would the cost be to do this?

- Bills Payable - Gauger motioned to approve the bills as presented. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

- Annual Meeting date will be April 14, 2010 at 7:00pm.

- Gauger motioned to adjourn. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.
