Town of Arena

March 8, 2010

PRESENT:  Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey, Terry Denruiter, KayDee Maxwell, Minnie Gauger, Dick Lockman, Mary Lockman, David Meudt, Ingmar Nelson, John Wright, Mark Hottmann, Rod Anding

- The meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm.  Roll call was taken, all board members are present.

- Denruiter motioned to approve the minutes from the February 8, 2010. Gauger seconded, motion passed.

- Ingmar Nelson, clarification from Planning Committee meeting. Gary Heck building on his property wasn't going to affect Ingmar's building permits? Lucey said that at this point in time Heck's business is his business and has no bearing on Ingmar's property. John Wright thinks they were in error at the last Planning meeting to say he has 7 building sites. He doesn't think he has any except the two he has now.

How to calculate the number of building sites: Use everything up to 1985 and add up the building sites. After the 1/30 change in 2005 you could possibly apply for another permit. If you had 100 acres, 2 sites were sold off, then you would get one site since the rule change. Anybody who bought property after 2005 would have to have a deed stating the building sites prior to 2005.

How does Ingmar have two building sites? He has accumulated two building sites above and beyond the two he already has.

- Public Comment - none

- Town Patrolmen discussion - metal from clean sweep. Sometimes they pay for it if it has a value. Ask Town & Country if they would pay for metal from clean sweep? We charge for appliances because we have to pay to get rid of them. With our municipal discount should we buy a tractor every year, sell it and buy a new one. Lucey doesn't like the idea. Clean Sweep date - Lucey would like to do it around the 15th or 22nd of May. If the Village doesn't have a clean sweep should we invite them to do clean sweep with us at so much per load. How long are we keeping Dicks' truck? Two years after it is paid off. We need to get some reground one of these days. Jim Corcoran called to see if any decision has been made for Fitts Road? If you put reground on it, the plow will take it off. Fitts needs gravel.

- Connie McVay - needs a quick claim deed for the Helena Plat abandonment. Her and the other parties are responsible for it. Ted Frank is their attorney and he is going to do it.

- The board looked over the bills from last month. Denruiter motioned to buy the oxygen and acetylene tanks vs. leasing. Gauger seconded, motion passed. Gauger motioned to approve the current bills. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

- Gauger motioned to adjourn. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.
