ARENA PLAN COMMISSION

August 2, 2010

PRESENT: John Wright, Rod Anding, Dave Lucey, Bill Gauger, Bob Murphy, KayDee Maxwell, Cheryl Schmidt, Terry Denruiter, Mark Hottmann

OTHERS: Ingmar Nelson, Dick & Mary Lockman,

- Meeting was called to order. Anding motioned to approve the minutes from the July 12, 2010 meeting. Wright seconded, motion passed.

- Tom Dechant is not coming to the meeting because the plan commission met with him and the driveway is still not the way the plan commission wants it. He is using too much non-ag land. He is going to re-stake and call the plan commission to come look again

- Daniel Cooley was not at the meeting

- Randy Hartung - driveway permit application for Andersons. They want to build and office and a shop and the fertilizer terminal. They want to move the north driveway further north to make a right angel dress to the road and have a better response to the scale. The south driveway will stay where it is. Does it require a culvert? This is a safer approach. Hottmann motioned to accept the driveway permit proposal to move the driveway to the north and vacate the current one. A plan commission member will go look at the driveway once it is staked out. Anding seconded, motion passed. $500 fee was paid.

- Rod Anding thinks we should hire one person from the plan commission to follow up on what we are doing and passing. To make sure people are in compliance. $20/hr. Is there anything ever done to people that are not following the ordinances? How would we follow up, with fines? The town has a building inspector that signs off on new construction and driveways before a resident gets an occupancy permit.

- Dick Lockman suggested to Randy Hartung that moving the Pine Trees on the sharp corner on Helena Rd. would sure help.

- Anding motioned to adjourn. Hottmann seconded, motion passed.
