ARENA PLAN COMMISSION
PRESENT: Bill Gauger,
Meeting
was called to order at 7:04pm by John Wright.
Murphy motioned
to approve the minutes from the July 5, 2011 meeting. Anding
seconded, motion passed.
Gauger Salvage - was tabled
from last month. Would like to double
the number of cars stored from 650-700, currently stored, to 1300. They would
like it stated in the minutes that the town board is not concerned with the
number of employees they have. Anding think there should
be a number. Anding wants to be sure there is not
contaminates and that the town is not going to be liable in the future. He
wants something in writing. They have storm water permit. Scott is licensed to
remove freon. They work with
the DNR and they inspect the property every year. They have disposed of 10,000
tires since Jan. 1, 2010. Scott thinks a max number of employees they would
ever have is 25. Numbers were discussed but no action is needed. Zoning on mini
warehouse lot is B3. Salvage yard is B4. They would like to sell new car parts
and have a Gauger Auto Parts or some kind of store. They are not expecting a
larger volume of traffic. They are expecting to sell more to their current
customers. They run a small route where they deliver used parts. They would use
the same truck and sell new parts as well. Murphy would like a list of all the
licenses and expiration dates. New and used auto parts needs to be on the
conditional use permit along with an increase in car storage. Thursday we will
meet to discuss this at 7:00 pm.
Hottman motioned to adjourn. Anding
seconded, motion passed.
ARENA PLAN COMMISSION
PRESENT: Bill Gauger,
Meeting
was called to order at 6:05pm by John Wright.
Gauger Salvage - Update
their conditional use permit to add "sell new and used auto parts"
and double the number of cars stored to 1300. We are going to leave the number
of employees as a discussion and nothing more at this time. We have copies of
all of their permits. Schmidt motioned to update the conditional use permit to
store 1300 cars and sell new and used auto parts. Anding
seconded, motion passed.
Public comments - Anding doesn't think we need to pay for three town board
members to attend every meeting. He thinks it is a waste of money. Maybe only
one board member attends each meeting. Wright thinks one member should be
present at least. This way we can save some money.
Anding motioned to adjourn. Schmidt seconded, motion
passed.
