Town of Arena

PRESENT: Bill Gauger, Dave Lucey, Terry Denruiter, KayDee Maxwell, Dick Lockman, Mary Lockman, Minnie Gauger, David Meudt, David Moore, Vern & Evy Halverson

The meeting was called to order by David Lucey at 7:00pm. Roll call was taken.

Denruiter motioned to approve the minutes from October 10, 2011. Gauger seconded, motion passed.

David Moore discussion about the fence - The fenceing bill, each party is responsible for 50% of the bill according to Moore. He is responsible for 50% of Olson's bill and Olson is responsible for 50% of Moore's bill. This is a new fence, not an existing fence. Mr. Moore had called Mr. Olson a few times, but Mr. Olson never called back. The fence changed ownership after Mr. Moore had received notice. Betty Peterson never wrote Mr. Moore a letter to contact him. The board will have to review this with their attorney. They still want to know why Mr. Moore did not act sooner. Mr. Moore will pay half of the bill now and will pay more later if he needs to. The board doesn't want partial payment. The township will pay Vern Halverson for the fence tonight and then we will contact our attorney on how to proceed. The town will put the fence bill on Mr. Moore's tax bill next year. Mr. Moore thought he was hiring Vern Halverson. The town said here then, pay the bill.

Town Patrolmen discussion - the person interested in the grader is not interested anymore. The Town of Wyoming owes us for one load of salt. Fixed the water heater and a few leaks in the roof. We are ready for snow.

Fence discussion - Mike Olson should submit a bill for Betty Peterson's half of the fence? Terry will call to learn more about the state statues.

Gauger motioned to pay the bills as presented. Denruiter seconded, motion passed. We need to bill Robert Keene for $259.02 for a culvert.

We got paid for some personal property taxes. Some are still due.

The meeting was called to order by David Lucey at 6:40pm. Roll call was taken.

Budget meeting - looking to possibly save $2,000-$3,000 by switching companies.

What about having the town patrolmen do garbage on Saturdays? What about the days it snows? We will think about it. Minnie Gauger motioned to approve the 2012 budget. Terry Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Denruiter nominated Dave Lucey for Chairman. Gauger seconded motion passed.

Denruiter motioned to adopt the 2011 tax levy payable in 2012. Gauger seconded, motion passed.

Minnie Gauger motioned to approve the highway expenditures of $114,200 (sealcoat, patch, signs and culverts) for 2012. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.

Gauger motioned to adjourn. Denruiter seconded, motion passed.
